Greetings, m'lords and ladies!

I am Lady Tatiana de Foix. I became acquainted with the Society for Creative Anachronism in A.S. XXXVI (2001), and I plan to enjoy a long and happy life in the Known World.

My adventures in the SCA began in the Kingdom of Caid. The first event was a day trip to Great Western War. Lady Ysabel d'Outremer loaned me a lovely gown and veil, we traveled a couple of hours to the site, and I entered a world of history, chivalry, and smiles.

After that, I went to events nearly every weekend. I counted myself fortunate to live in a kingdom where that was feasible, and the Society and the Lovely Ladies of Lyondemere enriched my life and delighted my heart. Now that I live in Alpensee (the Lake Tahoe area) in the glorious Kingdom of the West, events are significantly farther. (Caid spoiled me!) But my lord Nicolai von Sachsen and I attend them when we can.

Additional images and updates can be viewed on the News page, which I strive to keep current. I don't always succeed. (Last News update: February 4, 2006)

As for the rest of my life, I thank Fate I ventured into the SCA, Caid and the West. Both kingdoms are incredibly beautiful—the golden sunshine and craggy, snowcapped mountains can bring me to awed tears. I wanted to honor those joys with my original SCA name, Tatiana des Montagnes Ensoleillées. But the heralds persuaded me to go with something shorter and easier to pronounce, so I chose Tatiana de Foix. Foix is a lovely village near the French Pyrenees. (I will keep "des Montagnes Ensoleillées" as the nickname my father gave me. See the "Name" page for part of my persona story.)

Besides the SCA, my hobbies include writing, reading, singing, salsa and belly dancing, skiing, horseback riding...and making cats purr. However, the SCA and the friendships within it sometimes overtake most other pursuits. Attending my first camping war, Estrella, was a joy I'll always remember. Quite frankly, I love War! My account of that magical experience is available here.

Alas, due to an obnoxious plague of spammers who did not cease their assault despite IP banning and required approval of posts, I had to disable my guestbook.   :-(
